Guinness World Records

Nearly 300 tow trucks spell out the words 'New York' on a runway at Brooklyn's Floyd Bennett Field in an attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the largest tow truck parade in New York, September 20, 2008. The parade of 292 trucks went from Shea Stadium in Queens to the small historic airport in Gateway National Park in Brooklyn, and was staged by the Metropolitan New York Towing Association.

On today's 'Live with Regis and Kelly,' Guinness World Records Researcher/US Spokesperson Stuart Claxton (left), 'Live' host Kelly Ripa and guest co-host Kyle MacLachlan (right) congratulate Tom Sietas of Germany for breaking the Guinness World Record for LONGEST TIME BREATH HELD VOLUNTARILY. Sietas held his breath under water for 17 minutes, 19 seconds, topping the record set by David Blaine. All week long, 'Live' and Guinness World Records featured record-breaking attempts to celebrate the new Guinness World Records book's release.

Joel Waul, 27, poses for a photograph with the 8,200 pound rubber band ball that he created in the driveway of his home August 14, 2008 in Lauderhill, Florida. Once he is finished, Mr. Waul plans on submitting the ball to the Guinness World Records to try and break the record of the current largest rubber band ball in the record book. Waul's ball already is made up of more than 300,000 bands of different sizes and he plans on adding 2,000 more pounds once the material is delivered to his home.
