New Year's Eve in Times Squar, USA

Thousands of people braved the cold to usher in 2009 at Times Square during New Years Eve. Click here to see New Year's Eve celebrations around the world.

The crowds began to fill Times Square early in the day, including Jazmin Daniels (left), 20, and Ashley Cormier (right), 16, from Owings Mills, Md., and Zoe Jourdain, 16, from France (center).

Danville, Ohio natives Lisa Mills, Kendra Mills, Kara Mills, and Shelby Gonzales showed up early to get a good spot.

The Naked Cowboy braved the cold to entertain the early arrivers...

...although some, like Jasmina Joseph and her sister Guerldine, made their own entertainment.

Just looking at the crowds can be entertaining by itself...you could do it until the cows come home!

Eric Van Tielen from Salt Lake City, Utah and Alvaro Gonzalez from Santiago, Chile brought their own homemade party gear...

... while 84-year old Lorena Skinner went the corporate-sponsored route.

Of course, the main event of the evening, as always, was 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve,' and Dick was on hand with wife Kari.

'American Idol' host Ryan Seacrest helped Clark host the show, which included a performance by the Jonas Brothers.

Also on hand in Times Square were Taylor Swift...

...Lionel Richie...

...and Ludacris.

...although the biggest stars on stage may have been Bill and Hillary Clinton, who were on hand to help drop the real star of the show...

The ball, in all its splendor and glory.

The crowds cheered for the ball, the fireworks...

...and the confetti.

The performances played to massive crowds...

Mayor Bloomberg shared the stage.
